Sydney almost gives dad a heart attack

So last night I'm sitting on the ground next to my bed watching T.V. with Sydney. Aubrey was sleeping on our bed and Heather had just left to pick up a movie. Sydney climbed up onto the bed and was kissing Aubrey and playing with her. I don't remember the next set of events due to the pure shock, but at some point Sydney said something that got my attention. It was at that moment that I turned towards her to find her standing next to me holding Aubrey! Now if you don't have kids this was a combination of fears, one being the recklessness of 2 year old's and the frailty of newborns. Needless to say I gently grabbed Aubrey from Sydney's clutches and wondered, "How did Sydney get Aubrey off the bed?" Even as I write this it seems to unrealistic.... either way it happened and since no one was hurt it was a pretty funny moment.

Day 2 with Aubrey

Hey guys,

Alright so our night went good, we (Heather and I) finally got a good night of sleep. Aubrey and Heather are both doing great, healthy and happy. We had a few visitors today, Jeremy, Jenny, Levi and Sydney all stopped by to say "hi". It is really fun to see Sydney with Aubrey, she (Sydney) seems to be handeling it well, she even held Aubrey a bit. We will see when we get home if the trend continues, my guess is that it won't (but I've been wrong before). We will stay at the hospital again tonight and be heading home tomorrow. Thanks to all of you who called and e-mailed us.

I got to catch the baby

So yeah as the baby is about to be birthed into the world the Midwife turns to me and asks "Do you want to catch the baby?". Well my heart started to race as fear filled my heart and nerves got the best of me, it took a split second for me to realize that this is my daughter and I might never get to experience this again. So my answer was "yes", even though the fear and nerves didn't leave me. Only a few minutes later I got to be the one who "caught" Aubrey, it was a blast and I'm glad I got to do it.

WE HAD OUR GIRL!!!

That is right our daughter Aubrey Grace Peterson was born at 7:14 am (March 25th). She weighes 6 pounds and 13 ounces and measures 19 3/4 inches long. I will be posting pictures soon.

Heather's Doctor Appointment, 3/12/08

Heather, had another Doctor's appointment today! We are getting so close to having this baby and we hope she comes soon. Heather is now 3 cm dilated and 70% effaced, again I have no idea what that means, but I know there are poeple that will find that interesting. We will keep you posted as this develops, Heather is 37 weeks today so the baby is only gaining weight for the next few weeks.
