Our 2013 Christmas

Hi everyone,

Well the dust of Christmas has settled. Here's how we spent ours.

Christmas Eve we had a couple families and Heather's brother Dan over to celebrate. The kids had a gift exchange that they, of course, enjoyed. The adults enjoyed good food and afterwards played cards.

The next day our kids woke up and opened their gifts. They, of course, enjoyed this fully. Afterwards our friend Natasha came over and Dan as well. We watched movies, played with new toys and just enjoyed a chill day. My wife made a turkey and mashed potatoes. That morning she also made caramel rolls which were as addictive as the hardest of drugs. I, of course, enjoyed them.

That leaves us right now on our winter break. I won't be teaching for the next few weekends.

We found out a couple weeks ago that for Lily's file to be released (and for us to adopt her) she needed to go to Xian to do some medical updates and fill out some paperwork. My wife and I talked with the Father and felt that if enough money came in we would make it a family trip. Well. We had some very generous gifts and are going to make this Xian trip a family adventure. We're really looking forward to it. It's been a very long time since we got to do something like this as a family. It will also be nice to move one step closer to Lily being in our forever family.

much love,
the petersons
